  • January 21: Barney Live! - The Let's Go Tour begins performing at the Mobile Civic Center in Mobile, Alabama.
  • January 24-31 and October 12-15: The Brazilian version of El Parque Musical de Barney y sus Amigos performed at Via Funchal in São Paulo, Brazil.
  • February 1-26: The Spanish version of Barney's Big Surprise performed at the Vértice del Museo de la Nacion in Lima, Peru.
  • March 26 and April 1-2: The Spanish version of Barney's Big Surprise performed at the Teatro Aldama in Mexico City, Mexico.
  • June 20: HIT Entertainment announces the addition of Riff to the Barney franchise.
  • June 24-August 13: The Spanish version of Barney's Musical Castle performed at the Teatro Opera in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
  • August 2: Barney makes an appearance at the Hollywood Radio & Television Society "Kids Day 2006" at the Hollywood and Highland complex on August 2, 2006 in Hollywood, California.
  • September 2: Riff is added to the cast of Barney Live! The Let's Go Tour which was on tour eight months before.
  • November 3-12: The Spanish version of Barney's Musical Castle performed at the Teatro Caupolicán in Santiago, Chile.
  • November 17-30: Barney's Christmas Star is performed at United Square in Singapore.
  • December 1: Barney appears at the Neiman Marcus Adolphus Hotel Children's Christmas Parade.

  • June 19: JAKKS Pacific, Inc. announced that it signed a multi-year, master toy licensing agreement with HIT Entertainment to manufacture and market a full line of products based on Barney under its Child Guidance preschool division. Products, including learning toys, plush toys and more, were targeted for a Spring 2007 release in North America.[1]
  • Nanco releases licensed plush toys based on Barney, BJ, Riff and Baby Bop.
