Barney is a Dinosaur (more commonly known as the Barney Theme Song) is what starts every Barney & Friends episode, every live tour and almost all Barney videos.The tune is based off of Yankee Doodle.

The most common version of the theme is the TV show version:

Facts
- The Barney theme was slower in the Backyard Gang era and was sped up for the TV show
- Though the TV show theme arrangements have been different, the melody and lyrics have been the same since 1992.
- In the live tours, the theme is shortened to only the first and last stanzas.
